A note from the studio
We build small iOS apps. Then find out which ones are worth paying for.
NorthPixel is a small iOS studio, and honestly it's an experiment. We ship a handful of apps for iPhone to answer one question we find genuinely fun: which small apps are useful enough that someone would happily pay a few dollars a month to keep them around?
The experiment
Subscriptions get a bad name because most of them are rent on something that should have been a one-time purchase. We think the model is fine and the apps are the problem. So we build, we charge, and we find out — some ideas will clearly earn it, some won't, and we'd rather learn that in public than argue about it.
React Native, iOS only
Everything here is built with React Native and shipped to iOS alone. Not because Android doesn't matter, but because one platform is the only way a studio this size can hold a quality bar — and React Native is what lets us test an idea in weeks instead of quarters.
Small on purpose
There is no growth team here, no roadmap padded with features nobody asked for. Small means every decision is made by the people who will live with it — and it shows in the work.
Quiet by design
No streaks begging you to come back. No notifications engineered to interrupt your dinner. Nothing hidden behind a cancel button three screens deep. An app should be worth renewing because it's useful that month, not because leaving is annoying.
Shipped
00Every app here is a small bet on the same idea: that a well-made thing you actually use is worth paying for, and that most software fails that test long before the price does. If you've used one of ours and it's earning its keep — or especially if it isn't — write to us. There's no mailing list, we just answer email.
